Maytag Epic Washer Door Locked

Step 1 place your finger on the cycle end signal button on your maytag epic washer control panel.

The door is locked and will not unlock. Unlocking the control panel is as simple as the touch of a button. To do this remove the 3 screws along the bottom of the lower front panel. We placed dirty laundry in washer loaded soap and softener closed door and attempted to start normal cycle as usual.

The door should unlock after this is complete. The front panel will remove and then you can reach up behind the upper front panel. Wait approximately 2 minutes for control to reset. The door should unlock after 60 seconds.

The keys are sensitive so epic washers have a button that locks the control panel to stop accidental activation of a new option during a cycle. Ok so you ll need to open the door manually by unlocking it manually. I have a maytag epic z automatic washer. If the washer has an f8 e1 error or lo fl error the door will be locked and the control will be unresponsive.

The door lock secures the washer door shut during operation. The washer will go into a hold and drain routine for 8 minutes. If the washer was powered on before being connected to water the door may be locked and it may go into a drain mode. Door lock can fail either mechanically or electrically.

The cycle did not start and the door was then locked. This may drain any. The door lock led light will blink. If the washer will not unlock at the end of a wash cycle unplug the washer or disconnect power.

You may also see an f8 e1 error code. If the door lock is defective the washer door will not latch properly. Front loaders have a locking mechanism to avoid opening the door during a washing cycle but occasionally this lock will be activated accidentally. Reconnect power to washer plug in.

Pressing the power button cancels the fan dry option and unlocks the door. After plugging the washer in one of the following 3 events will happen. This is a guide about unlocking the door on a maytag front load washer. The door may immediately unlock.
